Courtesy of Eva Katkova of the Siberian Vernisage Company, Novosibirsk, RUSSIA
[Not Edited]

The phenomenon of creation of the Faberge-style Easter eggs by jewelers is connected with the pre-revolutionary Russia traditions. The first attempts of the creations of the items in Faberge style were in the 80 the years of the 20-th centuries. Andrey Ananov is the initiator of the treatment to the art works of the famous jeweler Ananov. Andrey once presented a medallion - in a form of an Easter egg - to a representative of the of the "Cartier" company. The company made a conclusion about its high quality. The "Cartier" company then signed a contract with Mr. Ananov and worked out the special brand - "Faberge from Ananov".

Filigree eggs with surprise - icons, open doors, broken in two parts and etc. - from Ramenskoye masters are marked out among modern Easter eggs. Their peculiarity is their Faberge style and the use of miniature pendants-eggs by St. Petersburg masters with Christian symbols on them. Pendants-eggs are made out of silver with the 18-carat gilding. Color enamels, Svarovski crystals, natural stones (garnet, malachite, obsidian, lapis lazuli) are used to decorate these works of art.
