  Balalaika [bah-lah-'lah-i-kah] is probably the most famous out of all Russian folk music instruments. All balalaikas have three-sided bodies, spruce or fir tops and backs made of 3-9 wooden sections; and all have three strings.

  The beautiful balalaika before you is not only a musical instrument. It is also an exquisite work of art, hand-painted in the best Russian folk painting traditions. All of our balalaikas are handcrafted from spruce and beech-wood at the only remaining balalaika factory in Russia, then hand-painted a professional Russian miniature painting artist and coated with several layers of crystal clear lacquer.

  Each instrument is hand-signed by the artist and is completely functional. It will make a great decoration for any home and an ideal addition to any musical instrument collection.
