Orenburg downy shawl is the unique knitting. The women of south and east districts of Orenburg region were occupied with it from 18th century. Climate conditions provided breeding of the exclusive kind of goats here with light, warm, silk, long fibrous kind of downy, that there is not of one race. Production of shawls divided at two stages: the first - very labor-intensive treatment of downy, the second - knitting to demand the big professional mastery.
